Seaqual® Yarn is a high quality 100% post-consumer recycled polyester yarn.
Its physical properties are practically identical to those of polyester virgin fiber.
Seaqual® Yarn contains 10% Seaqual® Marine Plastic, sourced from marine litter, and 90% post-consumer PET from land-based sources.
Its vertical production process is based on recycling the collected plastics, they are turned into granules, threads and fabrics with responsible manufacturing and controlled traceability.
PET plastic bottles are collected as raw material, 75% less CO2 is emitted in their manufacture than virgin and does not require new oil for its manufacture, reducing its demand and environmental footprint. In addition, ecological dyes and finishes are applied that are based on saving water and energy.
Seaqual® has a total of 165 fishing boats in eastern Spain that help to recover the plastic used. Thanks to the selection of maritime PET that is carried out, the quality of the final yarn is guaranteed. And it also ensures that a minimum of 5% of the material used in the fabrics comes from the sea.

As a consequence of poor waste management or its abandonment, some 8 million tons of plastics end up in the seas and oceans annually, forming 60-80% of marine litter, mostly in the form of micro-plastics ( fragments less than 5 mm).
